Actually, I attended a public school in a state where the public school
students do better academically than private school students. The public
schools may have slipped a bit from my day, but I see they are still the #1
state in the nation in the proportion of students who get a score high
enough to earn college credit on an Advanced Placement (AP) Science exam.
