Well made it thru the yard in record time. Was able to hire help from
extra late shift yard workers and decided to have the two barrier
coats and 3 bottom coats sprayed on after rolling on a coat of Dow
rust inhibitor. That saved a couple of days, and IMO should be
superior to rolling.

Brought her down to shiny steel and welded on 140 lbs of new zincs
and had all my new porthole plates welded in place. No
suprises, everything went perfect like clockwork. Oh one SNAFU when I
ordered bottom paint they loaded my truck up with Red bottom paint and
not black as I requested...Oh well looks great either way. Just
spotted the hull, paintd it last year, so it's good for another year
or two. Best part was I had the most perfect weather, hot and almost
no humidity, no dew and no rain. Paint dried to perfection and again
RedClouds bottom is as slick as ice. I'm sure RedCloud would leave
Robs boat far behind in her wake...not sure about Max's new rocket
ship.

All thats left to do now is bolt in all the new portholes after
priming and painting 120 feet of bare welds....then frame in the new
ports with mahogany, add in a bit of insulation and lots of cleaning.

Even with a resperator after a day of supervising (working harder
than the hired help) still ended up with the dreaded shipyard bottom
dust black buggers.

I hate the yard..but sure do love the results...I'll get some
pictures on line later.

PS Max ...Sounds like a nice boat..Rob..Nice pictures, Wilbur you got
thoses ******s all stirred up, keep up the good work.

The red will blend with the rust better.

Yes it would, if I had a speck of rust anywhere...but alas..I do not.

That's only 8 zincs, 2 forward, 2 middle, two aft and two on the
rudder, the 4 tabbers are a bit heavy.. At 5 years I had approx 35% of
my zincs left.. The " good lord "part is the sky high cost of zinc now
days, and the price of steel plate has gone crazy as well.

If you kept it coated you would not have that problem. After you
banged off the rust did you wire brush it, prime it and paint it?
