Wherein he provided absolutely no evidence for his claims concensus by all studies showed that states that allow private carry had the least amouint of gun crime... ???? The consensus is that these claims are meaningless and often false. In particular, the John Lott claims have been totally discredited. Here's a perfect example. It's a pro-gun site that didn't like the bogus math of the NRA report. It shows, for better or worse, that the states with a "right to carry" have a 15% higher murder rate than the "May Issue" states: http://www.guncite.com/gun_control_rtcstates.html they interviewed a couiple of ciminals in prison..said that they would npot knowingly enter a house where they knew there were guns... Now there's a real reliable source. The usual liberal cant is that if you say it long enough and loud enough it might come true... That's why the NRA studies are often exposed as frauds. How about John Lott's famous survey where the computer "ate the data" and he was never able to produce a single person who either worked on it or answered it. Funny how no one in the liberal sector comments oj findings like Stoessel's.... Did he find anything? |

There is no mention of gun control or gun violence in either of Stossel's books. The recent book has a list of supporting research in the back - nothing there relates to gun control. It appears that gun control is an issue he's jumped on recently. Like many others, he suggests that perhaps the VT killings could have been prevented if students and teachers were permitted to carry guns. This is ignoring the fact that campuses are extremely safe, with a homicide rate that is a small fraction of the national average. (Last year there were perhaps 20 murders on campus, which collectively are the size of a major city.) Its hard to believe that arming a significant number of kids would make it safer. If nothing else, adding a million or so guns to the campuses couldn't possibly lower the suicide rate - there are over 1000 a year. Oddly, the suicide rate on campus is about half that in non-students of the same age group. |

Throw this in with your continued personal attacks on public figures with no substantive discourse on solutions to perceived problems one could only categorize you in the left wing looney bin. I realize you will never, ever "get it" or understand this. Your mind is too crippled to understand consequences and context. Your years of posting history clearly demonstrates this. The best anyone can do in dealing with you is to have patience, tolerance and understanding. It will never be a mutually beneficial exchange and I seriously doubt, except for those with the most arrested of development, anyone ever dealt with you and came away a better person. You never left the short bus, you just now drive it around the parking lot. I pray for you! Amen! Bob Crantz PS: I can send you a Bible if you think that would help. |

... "Capt. JG" wrote in message ... I don't think I can be categorized so simply. I rarely point to a left-wing apologist as a source of fact. Please feel free to repost an example if you can. I can easily dismiss him, because he has no rational argument. You rarely, if ever, point out any facts. Your only method of "argument" is ad hominen as several others routinely point out. Your method is to either attack, killfile (doubtful) or netkkkop the messenger. You never left the short bus, you just now drive it around the parking lot. You're a liar. That's not a personal attack, just an observation. And, of course, you haven't reposted anything that shows it. On the other hand, you've threatened me with (what?) physical harm should we meet (fortunately, that's unlikely). You continually post about how Neal is such a great guy, yet this is someone who does continually demostrate what you wrote. I think you're the one who needs to read the bible. Pick any version, you'll get the gist of it. -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com |

Show me the exact quote where I threatened you with any physical harm. You have said this now 4 times, let's see the proof. Capt Neal is a great guy and wonderful man. He has always been very nice to me, has offered accurate and timely advice, great words of encourage and we both share a great many interests. Maybe if you focused on the positive in others your life would not be so negative. Cough up that proof! If we did ever meet it would be painless. Amen! Bob Crantz, praying even harder for your soul! If we did ever meet it would be painless. Don't worry. I'll do my best to avoid it. Here you go... last from me on the subject. Where exactly is the threat of physical harm?
Here's the essence: "" In the past I walked away from here only to be talked into coming back by several others. The last time I did it begrudgingly out of personal friendship. Just pray to god you never meet me in person. I'm not in control of what you do and where you go, but it's pretty to think so. I take the rest of this as a lame threat intended to shut me up. You're obviously a sick guy, who is now going to what? beat me up? I think you're pretty much nothing as a person, so it's nice to know you have a friend. Given what you and your "friend" have called me, I think that's pretty tame and restrained. Feel free to not let the door hit you on the way out. You can only do so much for your friend."" "You're obviously a sick guy, who is now going to what? beat me up? I think you're pretty much nothing as a person" Where is the threat of harm? Does a "reasonable man" then go on to taunt and provoke a person who alledgedly threatens "physical harm"? hmmmm? I demand that you retract what you have said immediately and apologize. I may go see a lawyer about this. I am fed up with your constant attacks on me and extremely upset with the damage you have caused to my reputation. |

"Capt. JG" wrote in message ... I take it back. -- That is one of the nicest things you have ever done, admitting your error in saying that I ever threatened you with physical harm. I accept you taking what you said back and am startled at your fine gesture. I hope we can bury the hatchet now and begin anew. Your apology is graciously accepted. Bob Crantz |
