Or bonjour, but locals here seem to prefer their own lingo, so when in Rome... We had a pretty fast trip, at least for this old wide-body cruising boat. Left Puerto Vallarta April 1 at 0600 and arrived Hiva Oa April 23 same time. I think that's 22 days? Not too bad for over 2800 miles, but admittedly the favorable 1+ knot current we enjoyed most of the way helped some. Finally got to an island with not only internet, but wifi, so I am sitting in the cockpit at anchor here in Taiohae Bay, enjoying a pretty decent bottle of French wine, and just thought I'd let you know the weather is here, and wish you were beautiful, or something like that. More about the trip and some pics if I ever get them uploaded (having a little trouble getting on)www.sailinglinks.com/notes.htm Now you can go back to politics and meow stuff... Best, Mike s/y (only s/v if a commercial vessel) Arabellawww.sailinglinks.com Nice Mike, Might have been smart to bring a case or two of rum with you. Sheeze at 50 bucks a pop you could have made some nice sailing money. Sounds like a decent crossing. You find any topless Kava making natives yet? Joe |

I just bought that Tahitian stuff to try it, and Man, you should see the babes on the labels! Looking forward to the French resorts coming up- I think topless is the only way the women go on the beach. Unfortunately, the darn missionaries made the local women into a bunch of prudes. |

Glass beads for the natives type of stuff? Looking forward to the French resorts coming up- I think topless is the only way the women go on the beach. You could have anchored off Blacks beach and saved the trip:0) Plus the women at Blacks beach shave under the arms. Unfortunately, the darn missionaries made the local women into a bunch of prudes.- Well visit the church then, bet they have some interesting history to tell. Is everything as expensive to the locals, or they just charging you rich gringo prices? You planning on swinging by Palmyra? Joe Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - |
