On the off chance it's a straight forward simple question.....the
maneuvering light is white.

You are correct Otmb. All around white maneuvering light. Used in
crowded harbors where it may not be clear who's signaling.

Actually, it's use would be good offshore as well as in crowded harbors.
For instance due to seperation distance, closed up wheelhouse, weather,
etc., you may not readily hear the signal...

If you take the time between seeing the light and hearing the sound you can
tell how far away it is. Count the number of seconds between and that is how
many thousand feet away it is.

OMG!!! Joe, do you need to take a remedial course? Sounds like it to me!

LP (I'm scared to sail with "joe" out on the water that doesn't have a
