Watch for pirates in the Indian Ocean and Red Sea.

Gee, is this the level of help one can expect from the asa?

Most of us worked hard all out lives and bought our boats
ourselves...many life lessons to be learned by doing things that
way...announcing that ones Pater Familias bought his spoiled brat a boat
to keep him out of the mansion just doesn't sit well with most with good
work ethic and who know the value of things...Maybe if you rephrase your
scenario to something like: I have just acquired a sailboat and would
like to sail the Med
and around Europe...you would get some more coherent and helpful
replies...We, the arrogant, suffer arrogancey not in those that haven't
earned their keep here yet...

katy, for god's sake, spit the hook.

Impressive. That's a nice airplane. Is your new sailboat that expensive?
Did you get a big Swan? I wanna crew on a Swan 75. :-)

OOps! I'm sorry, there was just something about the way you talked that
didn't sound like a man. Maybe your a young man? You did call your father
"daddy". Usually girls say that but like young boys might say it too.

Ellen

I never heard of that Brand and I know bunches about sailboats. So I googled it.
It's a freaking motor boat. Duh. That doesn't impress anybody here. This is a
group for sailors and sailboats. Get your Daddy to buy you a Swan 75 and I'll
teach you how to sail it. Nobody's more qualified than me.

You're right. Well, sorta. I'm a female sailor. But I was just pulling your leg.
I'm not the Ellen MacArthur in that web site I put the link in to. But, that Ellen does
look like a boy, doesn't she? But, she's really a girl. And she's a very good sailor.
She's won sailboat races going all around the world. She's beaten lots of men.
Compared to you I'm poor. I only sail a little sailboat. Only 18-feet long.
But, it's fun. Probably more fun that a great big one that you can't sail by
yourself. It's OK having pilots and captains and servants but it's a drag too.
Everybody doing things for you all the time. No privacy. Manners. No fun at all....

Cheers,
Ellen
