Racing is for sailors who don't have the time to cruise.

Or for sailors who want to improve their cruising

abilities....
Anybody who races gets better than anybody who doesn't.

Better at what?

Even if you lose you learn
much more than if you never raced.

yeah, you learned how to lose. that will come in real handy
at the next anchorage.

Better at understanding their boat. Better at getting the most out of it.

Open your mind, Scotty. I never said anything about learning to lose. Nobody has
to learn how to lose. You automatically lose unless you win. There's only one winner
but there's lots of losers. It's not a bad thing to lose. It's more normal than winning.
When you lose you can learn if you ask yourself why you lost....

Cheers,
Ellen

Your boat, silly....

I suppose it's (losing) natural for you?

Only when I married a man who acted just like you but without your sense of humor.
(but who was probably much better looking). But it didn't take long for me to win. It was
when I divorced that stupid lazy jerk. I got half of everything he owned and it was a lot....

Cheers,
Ellen

HUH?! You say he was a "lazy jerk" but then you say "half of everything he
owned and it was a lot...."

Maybe it is you that is the "lazy jerk"? Just asking.

That's right....

Maybe it is you that is the "lazy jerk"? Just asking.

He didn't work for it. He inherited it. I worked for my half, believe me. All that
disgusting animal grunting and groaning alone was work enough just to listen to it.
Not to mention the slobbering...

Cheers,
Ellen
