Default Power failures in NW

Doesn't Tom live in the North West? Maybe he's got the power failure so he can't
get on the internet. See, if he lived aboard a sailboat he could get on using a laptop and
wifi. There's not many posts lately, maybe there's power failures all over. There was a
big solar flare the astronauts on the space station had to hide from. That's another good
reason to live in a boat. Water blocks the bad rays. That's what the astronauts hide behind.
Water.

Cheers,
Ellen

So what "WiFi" would be operating if they had a general outage? And
exactly how do you hide behind water on a boat? Crawl under the water
tank?

Most local IPs around here have back up generators that kick on when the power goes off.
Then there's the cable TV internet that stays on when power goes off. Then there's the
telephone cable internet that stays on too. Duh.
Inside a boat your surrounded by water on three sides. All those bad rays don't just come
from straight up. Your awful crabby today. And picky. And wrong again. Take a pill Jeff. :-)

Cheers,
Ellen

You may find that the wifi hotspots don't always work so well during a power
outage. DUH! Then again, if the wifi is running on backup power, why couldn't he
use wifi and a laptop from his home. Why would he be better off on a boat?

Probably because marinas have wifi hot spots and neighborhoods don't usually. Unless you can
find somebody who didn't encrypt the one they have inside their houses.

Ellen

I agree. That was very childish for ''charlie'' to do that.
