Joe -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com For Jim and his Mac, quite a bit! :-) On a light, responsive boat like the Mac 26M, we don't have to wait until we get 25+ knot winds to have an enjoyable cruise, JG. It's sort of analogous to the difference between driving a lightweight sports car like a Porsche or Ferrari, (equivalent to my boat) or a heavy vehicle such as a Suburban or Town Car (equivalent to heavy conventional boats that take 1/4 mile to get up to speed). - Of course, it's largely a matter of personal tastes. Like, some people enjoy driving Ferraris and Porsches, whereas others prefer driving a Suburban. Jim |

It is NOT comparable to a Porshe or Ferrari. It is comparable to a Ford Escort, except that it's twice the price. But, good for you. You've got a nice big engine that will hopefully get you out of those terrible 15 kts wind conditions and back on dry land. -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com |

JG, Looking over some of the previous discussions, I'm concluding that I was wrong. - You don't seem to spend a lot of time bashing the Macs, and when you do, your comments are quite rational. So, I'll have to apologize for my intemperate remarks. (I get a lot of flack from several contributors on this ng, and I think I confused you with someone else.) Incidentally, my note comparing the Macs with Ferraris was a joke, of course. I thought most folks would realize that. Jim |

I didn't get the joke, however, since the Macs do have a big engine and go fast under power. :-) -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com |
