Default Need O'Day 31 Line Diameters & Owner's Manual

What do you mean you never got any replys? You tell me to get a
life! I spent a few moments of my life trying to help your ass out. I
guess you can't follow this newsgroups thread.
Than you have the balls to write this:
P.S. I am a brand new sailor. This is my first boat. I do
not have much
to offer in the line of advice to people who have been sailing for any
period of time. I was just looking for a little help. You are a
jerk.

Is this guy for real? I leave a post to help you out and you write
the above.

Bottom line here is your nothing but a ****ing ****** and your
choice of boats proves it. O'Days are cheaply made, undercanvased
pieces of ****. We have one in our race club and they can't even get
back in time on Wednesday nights before the cookout food gets cold.
Oh, and it's bigger than yours. O'Days are owned by ******s like you
who can't even figure out what size line to buy for halyards. There's
only a ton of information out there on choosing line. I guess your
too stupid to find it or your too lazy.
You should have bought a Sunfish to get started. I'll bet you can't
even dock that floating houseboat. Your probably a menace at your
marina. Now get lost you stupid **** before you get your ass kicked
all over this newsgroup.

Hey, chill. this is tough crowd. No one answered because no one
knows.

I'm sorry?.......... Look back. I left this idiot a courteous and
detailed answer to his question days ago. The dimwit can't even follow
a thread that he started. He said nobody replied. I guess he was
waiting for his mailman to bring a response. He's almost as stupid as
Boobsprit. Maybe he is Boobsprit.

Oh, and by the way. A simple Google search turned up 2 O'Day websites
both offering owner's manuals. Now if you can't find that sitting at
your desk how are you going to find your way past the first channel
marker? Once again...........get lost.

Oh, and in case the ****** didn't see it (he does miss a lot) there is
a link to the Layline website next to the start of every thread on this
newsgroup. It even has a tag line that states "help on line selection"
I'll bet that guy has a TOW BOAT US card with an upgrade.

Default Need O'Day 31 Line Diameters & Owner's Manual

Apparently my news server has missed many of the posts in reply to my
original question. Although I now am able to read posts from Dec 7 and Dec
8, my server still does not show any posts to this thread prior to that
(except Ringmaster's criticism on Dec 5!). I want to thank those of you who
responded, even though I have not seen your posts.

As a matter of fact, I did find a source for the owner's manual (D&R Marine
Supply in Masachusetts). One of the owners is a former employee of O'Day
and is very knowledgable about O'Day construction.

On the whole, my experience as a new sailor is that almost everyone has been
very cordial and helpful. Ringmaster, I do appreciate the fact that you
responded to my original question. Had I seen your response I would have
thanked you. You assume that I am some newbie who knows nothing about
boating or technology (newsgroups). Well, I may be a new sailor, but I an
certainly not a tech newbie. I provide critical computer programming and
support for a fortune 500 company.

I have monitored this newsgroup for some time now, and I have seen a lot of
helpful, informative and amusing discussion taking place. The one striking
thing that I noticed, though, is the insults and name-calling that take
place here. When I saw Ringmasters insult, I was not going to accept it
without comment. Normally I just ignore name-callers and trolls, but this
time I had enough.

Sorry if I took the newsgroup in the wrong direction, but foul insults from
people like Ringmaster do not belong in a newsgroup like this.

You just have to have a thick skin to stay around here...if you ignore
the noise, there are some great people here with good advice.

If you ignore the noise it gets awful boring..... You know, you'd be staring at a blank screen. :-)

Cheers,
Ellen
