I don't see how they packed 1000+ New Yorkers on the General Slocum.

That "Acushla" is a very pretty little boat. In the pic it
looks like she's getting outpointed by the bigger boat, but
it also looks like she could harden up quite a bit. I bet
she was fast in her day.

I noticed a walking beam sidewheeler.

If details of the engine had been visible, maybe that would
have been interesting.

As it is, I want to find out who designed the "Acushla" and
whether the plans still exist.

She's the steamer that burned and sank in the East River killing over
1000.

As it is, I want to find out who designed the "Acushla" and

Nope, I'm about to lose my work shop. But I would like to
have the plans to study & admire. If I wanted a boat like
that, the Dark Harbor 17 is close enough.
