The one race they did win (3rd one?) was an excellent demonstration of tactics... clearly America3 was the faster boat, but Cayard kept them behind using excellent tactics and one very aggressive (and very predictable... what was Buddy Melges thinking?) luff, right before a gybe mark I think it was. I'd sit down and watch that series over again. The last series was also interesting for the races between the SF team and the Swiss; the NZ team displayed a comedy of errors. I wish I had some film of some of our races. DSK |
