This year, as Americans serve across the globe in important battles
against terror and tyranny, Veterans Day takes on even more meaning. We
are blessed with nearly limitless freedoms and liberties in our
country. In exchange for all this nation gives to us, it does not
demand much in return. Yet throughout our history, millions of men and
women have volunteered to give back through military service. Their
courage and sacrifice has elevated our nation to the prosperity we
enjoy today, and they deserve our gratitude. Take a moment to honor
those who have made our country what it is today with their courage,
their sacrifice, and their lives.

I will be visiting my best friend tomorrow, he's in the Veterans
cementary in Houston.
And a coasty at that!.

I knew a man, called him Sandy Cane.
Few folks even knew his name.
But a hero, yes was he.
Left a boy, came back a man.
Still many just don't understand
about the reasons we are free.
I can't forget the look in his eyes,

Now, Sandy Cane is no longer here.

to help their fellow man.
