Default Kerry's Joke

I agree with you, Charlie (well, except for the "unmistakable" part). So
isn't it funny that the Dems, who should be lining up behind Kerry, are
instead insisting that he look down at his feet, do a little shuffle and
offer an abject apology to the troops?

Unfortunately, the GOP talking points version of the story got out
first, and the media, being the lame-ass lazy pack-journalists that they
are, repeated it ad nauseum until it became conventional wisdom.
Although those of us with IQ's in the triple digits could see right
through it (BTW, I think many on the right *are* smart enough to see
through it -especially those who started the whlole thing - it's just
that few are honest about it like you, Dave) the story grew to have a
life of it's own.

Democratic candidates want Kerry out of the headlines. So he does his
non-appology appology ("I'm sorry that you all fell for fatuous
republican spin again") and exits stage left.

It's politics. It's dishonest. It stinks.

On the bright side, it probably means Kerry won't run for president in
2008, which may actually be a gift from the GOP.

Or if you want a slightly more metaphoric take, John Scalzi nails the
overarching phenemenon: http://www.scalzi.com/whatever/002984.html
