I agree: I am a pussy. I was not a jarhead, but I still may be a double pussy. (And please provide a citation. I provided one already from the DoD that shows this claim is inaccurate.) ???? Where is it? About two posts up this thread. Here it is again. People join the military for many reasons. Fighting is not generally one of them. http://www.dod.gov/prhome/poprep2004...ons/index.html Some join to avoid prison. I know two guys that got the choice - jail or join the beloved Corps. They joined and got straightened right out when they saw double pussies such as you. Did you get that choice when they arrested you in that San Francisco bath house? You are the type who lacks motivation. The beloved Corps couldn't beat the pussy out of you even if you re-upped twice. The point was, they didn't join to fight. I remember at BCT the drill sergeant asking why people had joined. Not one said "To fight." Corrections: 1. I am a triple pussy. Maybe even a quadruple one. 2. The bath house was not in San Francisco. It was in Key West. It was filled with Navy pilots from NAS Key West. Some had also skipped down from NAS Pensacola. Marine pilots give the best head. 3. I wasn't going to tell the Marine story as it's too long, but since it applies to Marines beating me, oh well. The story about the marines at Ft. Sill runs thus: I was down for my FA officer's basic course. (I think Navy guys would've called me a 'maverick.' I was enlisted for five years and then went to OCS. I retired as a Major last year.) A group of about 75 2LTs were out drinking. There were three enlisted marines (there was a MarDet there) who were slamming beer bottles on top of other beer bottles and then chugging when it foamed up. (How could I tell they were Marines? Aside from their haircuts and their constant yelps of 'ooorah' were the 'USMC' sweatshirts they were all wearing.) One of the bottles broke and cut one of their hands. About 20 minutes later I went to the bathroom and this guy is in there and his hand is still bleeding pretty badly. I didn't figure this Marine had a car, so I told him that he may need stitches and I offered him a ride to Reynolds (the Army hospital on post). He turns to me and says, "I'm a US Marine. I could rip your head off and **** down your neck before you knew what hit you." I got mad. After all, I was just offering to help out a fellow military member. So I (for the only time in my career) pulled out my ID card and pulled rank. I played the whole game. I locked him up and said, "That may indeed be true. But when the MPs find this on my body it may change the scope of the investigation, don't you think? Who is your CO?" This Marine turns as white as a sheet. He say, "I'm UA Sir." He saw that I didn't know what that meant. "You guys call it AWOL." It turns out that these three had decided not to obey the MarDet CO's lights out at 2200 order and had snuck off post to have a few beers. I laid into him about how I expected people in my military, no matter the branch, to behave in public. I told him that there were about 75 Army officers in the next room. I told him that he must be the dumbest MF on earth. And I made an early-20s mistake. I realized that if I turned this guy in, my night of fun was over and that I would be filling out forms and making statements at the Provost Marshal's office (good early-20s call, as it turns out. I met a girl from the local college and got laid...). But in retrospect, I probably should've turned him in. I told him that he'd better get his ass into his CO's office before 0800 and tell him what happened, because at 0800 I was going to be there and the **** would hit the fan if he hadn't beaten me there. I went back to my group. About 10 minutes later, the waitress brought a round of beers to my group. She pointed to who they were from. It was the three Marines. The one with the cut hand pointed at me and saluted, then they all left. I never went to the MarDet CO's office... Since we both agree that lying is more fun, I'll point out that my father and my uncle were both Navy pilots. Dad flew P2 Neptunes and my uncle flew A-4s off the Constellation. I've had many other family members who also served in the Navy. One still is. He's an 0-6. So actually, I have nothing against the Navy. I was lying about that. I do have a soft spot for military people who walk in the mud though. They're the true manly men (and women. The Army and Marines have some very manly women.).:-) |

He likes boiler-room coffee, so I doubt if he'd go for single malts, especially Islay. Maybe Jim Beam? Max Do you like single malts? A crackling fire and a bottle of 20 year old Lagavulin contribute to a fine evening for me. I love Highland and Lowland scotches, too, but the Islay are the best, IMHO. My wife loves them, too. We also love Irish whiskeys, too, but single-malts are rare in Erin. And you? Max |

Hey, I just got a bottle of 10 year old Laphroaig as a gift. Is it any good?

How about one that is not quite so corrupt?

In any case, though he may be more qualified, he's still just a politition after all is said and done. He just wants to get elected, nothing more. Are you proposing an entirely new class of individual seeking the highest office in the land? Beyond Ike, I can't recall any apolitical presidential candidates. Max |

My thoughts are with our people -- of whatever branch of service -- wherever they're deployed. I got a call last week from a friend who's going to Kosovo for a year. I'd almost forgotten that we were still there. I have many friends in Iraq now too. I told them before they left: "You're an American soldier. So hold your head high. But you're in a combat zone, so keep your ****ing head down. You figure it out." I tell him to keep his head down. There's stress every time the phone rings. All he wants is to be able to spend sometime in a place where he doesn't have to have a buddy with him and carrying arms. His "bedroom" has 50+ bullet holes in it. He's under the gun 24/7 for months on end. He was just a kid when he went in. |

I don't drink enough to go through a lot of them, but they are enjoyable. I have a bottle of Glenfiddich, Glen Mornay(?) and one other. I've had a large bottle of Maker's Mark for over 25 years (don't drink it much). |

Looking at it from this great Socialist bastion to your north, I have to agree with you. I don't think the Dems have a chance, no matter who they nominate, the poor ******* will be like a race horse with two jockeys facing opposite directions. McCain, a centrist butt-kissing conservative, who disappointed a lot of people when he sucked up to Bush so he can get the nomination. He's even using the same attack-dog people Bush used. Very disappointing. Thankfully a lot of Democrats disagree with you. McCain is more qualified to lead than anyone the Dems or GOP have put up for office so far. Max Where will he lead them?
