Got a call late this afternoon.
My Bavaria slipped into Sydney late this afternoon and the guys are
waiting for Customs to clear them sometime tomorrow then they'll put
her into her pen while we organise to slip her and give her a nice
clean bum..

Which Bavaria do you have?

I googled it and I can't find it. http://www.bavariayachts.com/bavaria30/home.cfm
Bavaria doesn't even have it on their website? I hope it doesn't have windows in the hull.
It's so dumb that most sailboats these days have windows in the hull. Some are only a foot
or two above the water. What if they break? You sink! Duh!

Ellen

I wonder what I did to deserve that?
I guess your boat *does* have windows in the hull. I'd say that makes *you* the one
with a tiny brain. Style over substance is what those dangerous windows mean to people
who can think. But go ahead be stupid. Got a cheap life? Then buy a cheap boat.

Cheers,
Ellen

Windows in the hull makes a sailboat less safe than no windows in the hull.
It makes it more likely to leak, too. If your honest you'll admit it. They're stupid.
It's become a style. And the style is dangerous. Ask any serious sailor and they'll
agree with me. Why ask for trouble when there's plenty always coming without asking?
Duh! What are you gonna see anyway when you try to look outta those windows? Yes,
water! You can see that anytime. Then the light comes in and glares in your eyes so
what do you do? Put curtains up. So what's the use of a window then? Might as well
have a safe solid hull.
The Bavaria 30 doesn't have windows in the hull. I'd rather sail in it than in yours.
Less holes in the hull are safer. You can't make it any other way. Saying they're higher
than on another boat is dumb, just plain dumb. But, I'm sure you'll enjoy your new
death trap anyhoo.... :-)

Cheers,
Ellen

I've got windows in the bottom of my boat, but it isn't a sailboat so
that's ok.
