Default Island of stability

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Island_of_stability

With the creation of Eka-radon Atomic Element 118
recently we are another step closer to the Island of Stability
--a point where ultra heavy elements wil be stable.

This is intersting because the physical properties of
ultra heavy elements will likely open new doors to
our knowledge of physics, and hopefully lead us to
a fuller understanding of gravity...

There will be no fuller understanding of gravity. The world of physics is
now based upon statistical description, virtual particles, non causal
relations and the like. Physics is now in the dark ages.

Take cosmology for instance. There's the Big Bang completely based on
initial conditions so precise that such a process has never again occured in
nature. Then there's dark matter and energy, never to be seen or observed.

Throw in the famous double slit paradox, a photon is a wave or particle
depending on the experiment. Why can't this be resolved?

Physics has lost track. It's no longer science, it is competition for fame
and fortune. The bigger and more grandiose the theory, the better. The more
new "rules" and particles created, the better. It's lost track of the
difference between truth and equivalence.

Multiple universes, N-dimensional string theory, virtual particles, etc, it
is all nonsense.

The Global Warming farce is another example of science gone bad.

Mankind and physics will advance greatly when physics returns to its roots
of natural philosophy and away from being driven by mathematical
abstractions. Thinking will replace calculation. Truth will replace
equivalence. Simplicity will replace complexity. Understanding will replace
description. Unification will replace categorization. Philosophers will
replace scientists.

Amen!

And when that happens, we'll be able to turn peas into beans!

Won't the Big Bang ultimately collapse in upon itself and repeat the
process? How many times has a complete cycle already occurred? Twice?
Two-thousand times? Quadrillions of times?

What we know about physics is virtually irrelevant.

Not exactly turning straw into gold, but a start.
