To the guy who posted the original question:

If you can find the necessary power and a good location for the scanner, a
radar is always a great "tool" for many reasons whether you are cruising
offshore or mainly inshore through marked or unmarked channels.
Be advised..... just because you now have a radar don't think you are now
an expert (or even passable) radar observer.....radar can get you into just
as much trouble as non radar....just for different reasons.
