![]() Scout, that's a really fine looking yacht. Congrats on picking out one of the better and notably tough cruisers around in her size range. Enjoy! RB 35s5 NY |

But, don't call it cute..... Cheers, Ellen I'll call it anything I want...and since it's a female (boats are, ya know) calling her handsome implies that she has other attributes rather than beauty...handsome women are usually statuesque and durable...the durability part suits, but the boat is certainly not stauesque... |

my new boat - http://good-times.webshots.com/photo...97509592brRPZO Scout That's got a rather short mast and unusual helm. And I've never seen a two wheeled trailer with the wheels configured fore-and-aft. It almost looks like a motorcycle! About the mast support... it was not permanent, it was a stout aluminum pole with a "y" bracket at the top, arranged with a short piece of PVC pipe to work as a roller. Made setting up the rig much easier. It rested in a socket just beside the rudder gudgeons, so it could stay in place with th rudder mounted. Saved the work of removing the rudder, and also did not place trailering strains on the gudgeons. When we first got the boat, we took it off when sailing. Then I realized it made a nice flag staff, and we left it in place. Then we just got lazy and left it in place. After 20 years of observing people trailering sailboats, my opinion is that 95% of them make far too much work out of it. They then don't sail as often because it's too much PITA to rig/launch/retrieve the boat. They say life goes in cycles ![]() Fresh Breezes- Doug King |
