Sorry, I already gave awa the drive turbine for the prairie masker. That was a cute little bucket wheel. Regards Doug King We had similar happenings when we were using the radio fence in Chopper. The deer get used to the fact that the dog will or can only go so fae, and since most communities now have strict orinances about loose dogs, deer are losing their inate fear of them. Actually, you'd be surprised at what some animals will do. My brother had a small farm with some chickens and sheep, 3 dogs, and five cats. One dog named "Big", a big playful ball of fur who looked like a mix of black lab and something really hairy would run out into the yard and play with the deer. They would chase him around the yard for awhile, and then he would chase them for awhile. When they got tired, they would lay down together. But Big hated sheep. One of his cats (whose name I forgot) would go hang out with wild turkeys he found in the woods. Once in awhile as long as the dogs were in the house he would lead them down into the yard like a gaggle of geese and he was their mother. That same cat would kill squirrels and leave them on the deck. |

Scout Get a terrier....a vat will only kill one at a time where a terrier will go out there for the sport of it...(I like squirrels...you could just leave them alone..or feed them and make friends...) |

Cool shot of dog and deer. Is there a story there? The deer doesn't look too concerned. The dog was not barking, he was prancing around trying to get the deer to play with him. The deer probably realized there was no threat and was wondering what we could offer for dessert after he eats all our ivy. We have dozens of deer that wander thru the neighborhood. The corridor between our fence & the neighbor's is like a highway every evening. The dog is a riot. He had a turtle for a pet last summer. A box turtle got in our back fence and the dog carried him around like a toy, then would put him down & wait for him to peek out of his shell. I put the turtle far back in the woods but he came back. Then when the dog got tired of him, he apparently wandered away on his own. My favorite local wildlife is a pair of very large owls. Regards Doug King |
