navigation for at least 200 years before Columbus, and in China
for a couple hundred years before that - possibly longer.

The compass goes back to ancient Greece, where mathematicians like
Euclid used it to draw circles and bisect line segments.

I think that must have been an essay probably written by his kid for school.
It was only pasted here to give the appearance of being relative to the
