Same here. The self-tightening loop keeps the line from dropping along the piling or chafing. What should be a concern when so moored. Tidal range. Agreed again. I didn't think you all had much tide up there. We have very little real tide, the wind on the estuary puts the water level up or down as much as four feet some times. How do you tell if the line is going to allow more or less movement as the water level goes up or down? It's relationship to the deck height. We have about the same up here, the main thing is, in a narrow slip, leaving the boat for a week at a time, you're bound to encounter a super low or high tide and should account for it. I tie the lines on the pilings so they're dead even with the boat with as much slack as possible, at 'normal' tide height. So many boats I see have the dock lines way high up on the pilings. SBV |
