You'd never get enough horsepower out of a sailboat sail to power a WIG sailboat. Note the very large engines on all the various WIG craft pictured in the link elsewhere. Joe I think it may be possible, but I can't think of a good way to use sails to get the pressure under the wing built up enough to gain enough lift. With another power source, it could be done much more easily but then it would only be a sailboat dependent on lifting motors. DSK |
