Default Owner's Comment on Doug and Seaward

| But, I wonder how hooking up such a bunch of losers can be much fun
| considering they're the bottom rung of the boarding ladder...

|
| There are some real sailors here....

Thanks for filling me in...

|
| Jeff, though he sails a Cat, actually takes long trips.

Nothing at all wrong with a wellfound cat. They're making some
fine designs these days.

| Mooron
| certainly uses his Nordica.

Stout vessel but on the slow side. Good for those who value safety over
fast passagemaking.

| Ozzy's health is troubled, but he gets out
| there otherwise.

Probably the health thing is his own fault. I bet the bloke smokes
cigarettes, drinks hard liquour and womanizes.

| I tease John Cairns about his Catalina 28, but he's
| clearly out there having fun.

Good little boat. Not anything to cross oceans with but for
week-ending and coastal cruising it'll do.

| Old Thom retired from sailing and made
| excellent use of his Capital Yachts PH boat.

About as sorry a boat as DSK's trawler but Doug's trawler
sails faster with the riding sail up and drawing. Folks who no
longer sail really have little business posting here.

| Scotty, up until this
| season, cruised his little 30 footer plenty. I hope he doesn't give up
| on sailing.

Probably will give it up. His boat was certainly uninspiring. I hear tell
it was a Seidelmann (sp?) But, then again, what does any dumb hillbilly
truck driver know about sailboats?

| I really have no idea if Sloco sails, but I sure as hell
| know that Doug doesn't.

Sloco who?

| In fact the only boat Doug ever had appeared to
| be some toy boats and a Hunter 19. How anyone could own a Hunter 19 is
| simply a question for an old parrot somewhere. A Seaward sure looks
| nicer to my eyes.

Right you are. A Hunter of any size is a cheap entry-level boat
at best.

| But as my surveyor friends are fond of saying, there's always one
| asshole in every yard that thinks he knows more than they do. That
| "asshole" will give out bad advice and care not if it's true or not or
| applicable. He just needs to hear himself pontificate. Doug fits that
| to a T, even if he doesn't know it. I actually think he responds to my
| silly posts because he does know it...and he knows that I know it...and
| he can't stand it.

Think he'll bite on that obvious troll? Probably :-)

| Ah, well. We're planning on sailing most of the week and next weekend.
| I hope most of you can get out there. August was an awesome sailing
| month on the Long Island Sound.

Attaboy!
