Good Luck Nutsy,
I didn't have a AC but had a Microwave. I had a 500W Genset to charge Batteries for Inverter. Not much bigger than a Lunch box. Noisy as hell but portable. Used battery clip to use and disconnect and stored in the Head when not in use, which was most of the time. My diesel Aux was a better choice. Quitter and less fuel and all hooked up to boat circuitry. It didn't go with the sale. I've hooked it up to my furnace circuit in the house. I can have heat and a couple of lights during Power Failures. Bet your thankful for AC this Summer back there. I've used my House AC more this year than all the other years combined. Nice today. 64 degrees and force 2 breeze and sunny. http://community.webtv.net/tassail/ThomPage |

![]() Bet your thankful for AC this Summer back there. I've used my House AC more this year than all the other years combined. You win that bet. The heat index for most of this week was 100-105 degrees. At least I was able to spend some time aboard and let a friend sleep aboard when her power went out in Astoria. On more "normally" hot days the A/C is nice when we're done with a sail. Packing up the main and cleaning up usually takes a while, so it's nice to finish up below in a cool cabin with an ice cold drink. Those windless days mean the boat is more usable for BBQ as well. I have to laugh when I think of poor Dave or Scotty Vermon hanging on a hook with no A/C days like yesterday. They sure are "roughing it!" RB 35s5 NY |

Nutsy,
I think you may have run that "HOOK" into your thumb. With a couple of 6volt Fans and open hatches a boat on the water can be kept very comfortable and a lot more economical than a AC. Out here, in the Pacific NW the water temp never get above 50 degrees. Very nice if you can circulate it. Even LISound, as I remember doesn't get into the 80's very often. BUT A AC is very nice but a space hug. If you have one you're just about obligated to use it. http://community.webtv.net/tassail/ThomPage |

![]() Even LISound, as I remember doesn't get into the 80's very often. BUT Thom, the LIS has been in the 90's plenty this summer. We start our daysails later in the day and sail into the evenings because of it. RB 35s5 NY |
