Look up the word "captain" joe.

Don't have to, it's on my USMM license along with the word "Master"

You reading the cereal box to define yourself, or watching Capt.
Kangaroo re-runs?

There is no law for hull speed.

Theoretical hull speed is a precise measurement and generally close to
the mark. Joe already said his boat does 9 knots on 30 knots of air. So
how is his hull speed 13 knots? Does it hit 13 knots in 80 knots of
air?

Hull speed for a Hobie that isn't planing?

What is the theoretical speed? How did you derive it?

Note you are talking theories, not laws.

Glory!

Nutsy,

You really are full of ****!! Really!

Theoretical hull speed is a precise measurement and generally close to
the mark. ----This is your statement! Read it again.

Theoretical;----Is a precise measurement?? Spare me.

Generally close to the mark;-----this is what you call a "precise
measurement!"
What a dumb ass statement.

Nutsy; I think you had better find out what "Hull Speed" is all about!
It seems you haven't a clue!

Oh look! Joe and Mooron are such girls that SCOTTY has to defend
them.

Scotty jumps in and says something like...

"Gee wiz! You guys are sure beating on Bobsprit (or fill in any name)"

It's so pathetic. You'd think after getting the hook ripped from his
jaw so many times, he'd learn. But that's why it's fun to stick around!

Look it up Robert.. USMM Master of Freight and towing vessels to 1600
tons any oceans #607529. Bubbles, while you were jerkin around with
cameras I was towing platforms.
The largest was Bullwinkle for Shell, 430 m tall bubbles, I think that
was taller than the empire state building, and setting anchors that
weigh more than 20 kia's combined.

100 ton ocean operator #425607.... even my wife has that little starter
licence.

I know..you need a picture

Thats a 135 ft 4,400 HP 28Kt 3 million dollar boat bubbles, will your
"Capt" licences let you run such a boat? See that radar unit? Worth
more than your cheap boat. See the throttles? Thats a quad screw boat
bubbles, We could walk it sideways at 3+ knots, no bow thruster BTW.

Captian Joe

We both also have Radar, Radio, lifeboat endorsements oiler, wiper,
OS, and AB tickets.

Hey Bob, here is a good pic of bullwinkle in the channel. We did not
join the tow until she was offshore, did more positioning than towing.
My boat was the Point Barrow. Sorry no pic! ;0(

You think wind makes your 35s5 surge, imagine how wind loads can affect
this tow.

Wow! Did I mention that I drove an F40 a few years ago? Does that make
me a better sailor? What exactly does your experience with those craft
have to do with sailing?
At least we can begin to understand why you bought what you bought. But
no one can fathom how you thought your boat had a 13 knot hull speed.
What's your WL, Joe? Hmmmmm?

I thought we were talking about the defination of Capt.

However to address your re- direction.

Large light craft have great windage, learning to deal with windage and
infact using it to your advantage in crucial in mastering sea going
vessels and tows.

Imagine running down the ICW a 400 ft wide ditch.... pushing a 300 ft
barge drawing only 6" with 13 ft of freeboard sticking above the water
with a single screw 350 HP lugger tug. And the wind at 25+ knots dead
on the beam. If you do not no how to sail, you get blown down ie: go
no-where except the downwind bank and wait for the wind to stop(once
you get blown down, with a big empty no tug has the leverage to get it
back up.

Now if you can sail, it get's you all excited and makes you giddy( the
way you get sailing now) it's a rush, you flat out haul ass. The fun
part is when you meet a guy coming the other way, doing the same thing.
It all has to do with dealing with mastering the skills needed for
others to call you Captain.

At least we can begin to understand why you bought what you bought. But
no one can fathom how you thought your boat had a 13 knot hull speed.

Bubble's.... I have a 120 HP main and a GPS. I know my hull speed.
