However, your accountant doesn't drive a Skoda. He doesn't drive a Sedona
for the same reason. Have you ever seen a sucessful film director in a
Skoda or a Kia? Of course not!! Both cars signify failure. I cannot
believe that you are driving a Kia. I bet that you really drive a Lexus!

Actually, my accountant sails a J35 and drives the old Sedona for
moving people and sailing gear. It's about as good as a dodge caravan.
My attorney sails a Tayana 48 DS and loves our Sedona so much he's
trying to dump out of his Jeep lease early. As you can read for
yourself, the new Sedona is a whole new minivan and a serious stab at
the class leaders, besting them in several areas. But didn't you just
say I only follow tried and true items....yet I bought one of the very
1st Subaru Tribeca's and Sedonas....Hmmmm.
Looks like I shot down every one of your trolls...with ease as usual.
Why did you trade to a powerboat?

The six speed manual? Now that's cool.

Our "new" car, the Toyota Camry we bought a few years back,
just turned over 105k miles and still in showroom shape. I'm
going to wait a few more years and buy a hybrid.

Why assume a narrow power band, why not a higher top speed
and better passing gear? I drove a 5 speed for year that
topped out at ~150 and wished many times for a sixth gear.

OTOH if the wife stalking is a bit slow this morning and you
obviously have no intelligent comment to make, why not.

topped out at ~150 and wished many times for a sixth gear.


Doug, read the reviews for the 407. It does indeed have a pretty poor
and narrow powerband. The 6 speed tranny is a downstream from a much
better engine config.

That car was a 911S, the manual said it should do 155 IIRC.

A six shift would have been very handy in the higher speed
range for hills & for passing. Nobody ever complained the
901 series had "a narrow power band" and the S had bigger
pots anyway.
