Hey LP were are you in OK? Ever been to Moore?

I live in Moore, Joe! Great guess. I live 2 miles SE of Will Rodgers
International Airport. But I live in an older "spacious" area with all the
other mansions. I'm just "trailer trash".

Toby Keith went to the same high school, and he lived a few blocks from me
until his wife and I was pregnant in 1996 and she had her baby and I lost
mine. (I've know him and Garth Brooks for years, being in the concert
business for many years 1982-1994.)

Then my ex sister-in-law in Norman (OU) had him (Toby's son) in private
school, then Grady, my nephew was a *guide* to take him to White Water, etc.
Toby Keith moved his estate to east of Norman/Moore. I've probably said
enough...

My hole in the water is celebrating her 30th birthday this year. She is
only 27 ft long, but has all I and the boss need for a weekend, or a week
on "our" 89,000 acre lake.

She has a full sail locker with 100, 120, and 165 hanked jibs. we even
fly a spinniker when we get a wild hair in our butt.

Over the past 30 years I've run aground so many times I've considered
putting wheels on her keel. If you haven't, good for you, I'm proud of
you.

Her Atomic 4 has never failed us. Last years fuel costs? 38.00. this year
so far... 20.00.

We don't have solar panels, wind generators, water maker, or forward
looking sonar. We do have a 8D battery for the house, and a 4D back up and
a 30 gallon fresh water tank. The princess 2 burner suits us just fine,
thank you. The ice box goes thru about 20 lbs a day in August. we deal wih
it. No flat panel here, a radio/cd works wonders for the ambiance. One
thought... the full moon, a comfy cockpit and a good book.

The forward V-berth demands that we snuggle. Thats not a bad thing. I like
to say that she'll sleep six friends or 2 family members. My 15 year old
son has caught the "bug" and We're looking to upgrade, so I can hand our
faithful, reliable friend down to him.

From early March to late November, She, the boss and I have a wonderful
threesome on that lake almost every weekend, from friday afternoon to late
sunday evening. In fact, in just two weeks, we are relocating to an abode
within minutes from her so we can spend more time on her.

I know that sailors are a unique breed. I am one. I'm a bit off center.
ok, sometimes I don't know where center is!
I also know that over these past 30 years, I have meet some of the most
wondeful people on the face of the earth. People that will give you the
shirt off of their backs if you've been in the sun too long, people that
will without question, give you a tow, food, fuel, and a place to hang
your hat if need be. People that catch a fish, side up next to you and
say... "you got wine for this?"

So, heres just a suggestion.
Instead of looking for confirmation of your existance thru your latest
Amex purchase, or touting what a wonderful consumer you must be, or
deriding someone else for what they thought was a decent idea at the
time, or, instead of lambasting some poor sap for their foilables, hows
about we kinda, sorta, maybe, discuss what we all profess to love.
Sailing, our boats, the water, our first mates (the keepers of the
budget), our sailing friends and families, our trips, our journeys our
adventures and our joys. hey, its just a thought.
There are literally hundreds of thousands of people that are considering
"going boating" this year... what do you say about helping further the
cause?

A bit about the poster:

I have never circumnavigated the world. Don't plan to, don't need to. If
you have, or are going to, I wish you well. Good for you.

My hole in the water is celebrating her 30th birthday this year. She is
only 27 ft long, but has all I and the boss need for a weekend, or a
week on "our" 89,000 acre lake.

38.00. this
year so far... 20.00.

We don't have solar panels, wind generators, water maker, or forward
looking sonar. We do have a 8D battery for the house, and a 4D back up
and a 30 gallon fresh water tank. The princess 2 burner suits us just
fine, thank you. The ice box goes thru about 20 lbs a day in August. we
deal wih it. No flat panel here, a radio/cd works wonders for the
ambiance. One thought... the full moon, a comfy cockpit and a good book.

The forward V-berth demands that we snuggle. Thats not a bad thing. I
like to say that she'll sleep six friends or 2 family members. My 15
year old son has caught the "bug" and We're looking to upgrade, so I can
hand our faithful, reliable friend down to him.

From early March to late November, She, the boss and I have a wonderful
threesome on that lake almost every weekend, from friday afternoon to
late sunday evening. In fact, in just two weeks, we are relocating to an
abode within minutes from her so we can spend more time on her.

"Boats are the nearest thing to dreams that man has ever made"

"Wherever we want to go, we'll go. That's what a ship is, you know. It's
not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship
needs... but what a ship is... what the Black Pearl really is... is
freedom."

rant over, returning you to your regularly scheduled program.

Then I suggest you try standing on a different street corner.

Looks like her huge ass fell on your chest in one of those pictures!

Al least we're unable to use her bottoms as a storm jib, like you did last
weekend.

Thats a war wound caused by stupidity and loss of glasses. and her a**... is
just right as far as I'm concerned.

My boyfriend carries me around from sofa to bed, etc.

Drunken/narcotic induced stupor, or has a make-up application in-the-mirror
auto accident left you unable to get around without your medicare scooter?

But he's a 6' 6" hunk without one ounce of fat on him, just muscle. You
should workout some time.

After losing 50 lbs, I suppose I should but after 4 heart attacks, 4 angios
and 6 stents, I'm really quite lucky to be vertical and mobile.

Anymore smart**, from the self-centered, insignificant, sycophant-succubus?

See, its all fun and games till you go after family....

had a great weekend, as the photos will attest. only a couple of issues,
1) somebody must have wanted my compass(s) more than I did, cuz they're
both gone. arrrgh. oh well.

2) right now, some cat at the bottom of texoma is a mr.limpett. my glasses
flew off, plink, right to the bottom, oh well, yea, i know,
shoulda/woulda/coulda.

pics are...

a couple of them are from the recent lakefest regatta.
no complaining about the pics, they were all taken with a well used 79.00
D395, it works just fie for us.

Great pics!

Hmmmmmm...

I haven't heard that Usenet reference since 1999 and I started posting
here
around 2001.

Dunno about a Usenet reference. Actually, it's Matthew 3:3, which refers
to
John the Baptist IIRC. Sticks in my mind not because I'm a Bible reader
but
because Handel used it in Messiah, one of my favorite works.

You are correct it is in Matt 3:3, but phrase or verse was being quoted by
John the Baptist from the book of Isaiah.

Do I know you from another group? I didn't notice you until
you started posting a month or two after I started posting here.

You must have googled me, perhaps?

Nope. Know virtually nothing about you.

Not a problem, it's all virtual anyway! ;-)

Nope, I was on this virtual street corner first. Interesting that you met
your girlfriend on a street corner though...

Looks like her huge ass fell on your chest in one of those pictures!

So that's where my shorts were...how did they show up 100 miles away?

Fine by me, to each his own tastes...

I was thinking of sex, but I can tell where your mind is, with your
girlfriend!
As it should be!

But he's a 6' 6" hunk without one ounce of fat on him, just muscle. You

Sorry to hear about that...

I don't know, did you ask your girlfriend? ;-)

See, its all fun and games till you go after family....

You said she was your *girlfriend* you met on the corner and was going to
marry her for the money.
