Bob,
Doug has pretty much given you the right scoop. In Racing your pole is limited to your "J" measurement and that usally work to a level position on the Clew of your 150 Genny. It will have a tendency to rise. I usally use the Lazy sheet as a Barber Haul to keep it in a level position. If you have a full Spinnaker Set-up you have a downhaul to keep it stable. If you are poling out assymetrical, it is necessary to keep the tack Lower than the Clew, so if you use adjustable Tack, you should let the Clew rise as you let the Tack rise. http://community.webtv.net/tassail/ThomPage |
