Looking at renting a satellite phone for near costal (100, max 200 miles
out) run up the east coast; a rental website warned me off Globalstar, saying it didn't reach far offshore (pushing me to rent an Iridium for more ). A Globalstar dealer just told me it works fine out to Bermuda. Anyone with any experience in this ? |

Go for the Iridium. People who chose GlobalStar
always regret the decision. Global Star has major problems in the Caribbean too--where it is supposed to have good coverage. Dropped calls are the norm.
