And why did a number of gas stations in the Tidewater run out of gas
this weekend?

First, there's that other line on the graph. What's it called?

Then there's the fact that a new refinery hasn't been built in this
country
since the 70s.

Just a few years ago gas prices were very cheap and, accounting for
inflation, cheaper than in the 70's. No new refineries were built then
either. Doesn't it have something to do with demand for oil outside of the
US?

That's the other line on that graph I was referring to. It's called the
demand curve.

Umm, this may help explain it.

http://www.newint.org/issue335/greasing.htm

Bwahahaha! Got that right! Back in the 1979 crisis, gas was $1.20 in San Diego
but only $.40 just across the border in Mexico. Asked why, the head Mexican
replied "Because Mexico has no DOE"

Typical brainless boob who belives the Republikan media machine.

If your no new refinery being built idea hold true
then..................
How many Timken Bearing factories ahve been built since the 1970s? Uh..
zero. Do we still have roller berings availible? Yes

How many Hover Vac cleaners factories have ben built since 1970s.. Uh,
zero. So what do you use to suck the crud from your carpet?

How many televisin factories have ben built since 1970s, uh zero. So
why so many TVs in WalMart?

Why did callifornia experience an energy shortage a few years
back............ Enron (PGE) in Oregon simply cut the supply and made
the price go up. How did they do that. Well my good friend and engeneer
at a PGE coal fired power station said corporate order the plant off
line for "general maintaince" Interesting thing was it was not a
scheduled shut down and as an engeener he said it was not need or part
of the established preventive maintaince schedule. They shut the plant
down to paint stuff.

NOw al they have to do is jack up prices and then blame it on
liberals
democrats
envionmentalst
free marke supply and demand.,

Makes sense to me. Just reduce the supply, jack up the price.
In other words, work half as much and make twice the money..........
NOw that is good business sense.

Hey, don't belive me.................. read the guy's post here who
retired from a refinery.
Same plant...................... double the prodution.

What does your Econ book say about that?
