Sounds good but is it really necessary in VHF? When I sailed, a main
goal was to brake the contact with shore. The Peace of just being AWAY
was one of the main goals of Pneuma, my Dog and myself and crew.

If the radio goes down they can always hail someone on the beach with the
loudspeaker function since he's never far from shore. If it's a real
emergency the guy on the beach can wade out and render assistance!
