My boat is Awlgripped, so I use US Paint's products.

It was done in USA before I brought her over here but Awlgrip is not heard of here although there are probably similar products sold under different names. Anyway, it is a lovely white finish but after the winter layup she needs cleaning off and waxing-or something. What US Paint product do you use? You can put wax on Awlgrip. Clean it well first, but don't use abrasive. Actually you could probably use a very fine abrasive polish (Awlgrip is just a 2 part LPU paint, hard finish) but unless the finish is very old & yukked up, you shouldn't need to. Almost any car wax will do, although IMHO the best marine wax is a 3M product called "Marine Wax" (those crazy guys). DSK |
