I did! The water was a gunblue with a heavy silver quit like sky, Wind
was steady as a rock first hour out of the north at 10. Sailed to the new high rise condo site, by the park so Skipper could bark at the colored folks crabbing. Across the lake to the South the stern wake sounded like one of the water falls in a big hot tub, Kingfishers diving all arounds us. On the south sside we sailed by Pelican pilons, each had a white or Brown Pelican preening feathers from a long night of fishing, then it happened, the wind just about stopped, the water fall wake turned into a few slow whirlpools spinning off the transom. had to row off the south shore and caught just enough breeze to barely make it back to the slip. Once I doused and stowed the sails the wind started picking back up :0( The Snipe 125% head sail was great. Might head back out after work. Joe |
