Wow... This is a very interesting web site!
http://www.uscg.mil/hq/g-o/nmlbs/video.html Talk about rockin and a rollin in the high surf! The Coast Guard's MLB specs were interesting as well. Especially the self righting unsinkable aspect of the vessel. I'm wondering what their ballasting system is comprised of. Rob should get one of these (or a surplus facsimile). The he and little Thomas could leave their slip with "no fear". heh heh Enjoy Bill |

Bwahahah watch the Class 1 knockdown. Hatta putz on the helm.
Notice the engine cooling water gieser go dry just before she rights herself, he probly blew an impellor, and would have turned out faster had he throttled down to stbd. And what kinda clown tries to turn out before he is at the crest of the wave? Joe |

Joe... I was wondering the same thing. Then again... I'm not very knowledgable about this sort of situation or blue water seamanship in general. Maybe the helmsman was a newbie... or they were purposely trying to set up for a knockdown for orientation purposes. Bill |
