![]() OzOne wrote in message ... Well, my roaming of the world has ended. Flew in from that sewer called Los Angeles this morning....now I've just got to stay awake till this evening to kill any chance of the dreaded jet lag. Had a great time skiing some of the worlds great resorts and got in a fair bit of sailing in San Diego and out of Long Beach....is that winter you're having....? Have some interesting tales and thousands of pics to show and tell, but one of the best is the one about the repossessed Bavaria 38 with less than 1000 sea miles and under 150 engine hours which I purchased for well under $US 100k... The only deals I've seen in this end of the world are overpriced hurricane damaged "specials". John Cairns |

Welcome back, Oz. Sounds like you had a great trip!

She is certainly not damaged goods, spoke to the original salesman and got the story on the sale and the guy who bought her. He was apparently rolling in cash from a dot com buyout, then went bust. Boat was repoed and the bank just got sick of paying storage on her. Lots of good deals out there now, this sounds like a great one. And an opportunity for the folks who are sailing her back for you. I've been on a couple of Bavarias and thought they were pretty good boats, but their reputation has certainly suffered after the keel-falling-off incident(s). Fresh Breezes- Doug King |

I imagine the guys sailing her over for you will know *everything* about every inch of her by the time they get there. Haven't heard of keel dramas I think that was with the 47 foot models intended to be a bit racier. ... just looking at the quality of the build, I'd say the incident/s was a glitch. To be honest, I've never seen quality like it on a production boat, rarely on a custom, and most often in multi million dollar yachts. Mahogany fitout is virtually seamless. I was pretty impressed with the early '90s 34 and 36 footer... first boat I ever sailed with a wing keel, delivered one from NC to Connecticut thru a couple days of nor'easter. Got a chance to check the boat out pretty thoroughly and was impressed. The new owner was impressed that we brought it to his slip cleaner & in better shape than when he looked it over in the dealer's lot! DSK |

Does it have a swim platform?
An aft cabin for someone 6'3"? An award winning interior? Huh? Amen! OzOne wrote in message ... On Sat, 18 Feb 2006 21:38:36 -0500, DSK scribbled thusly: Welcome back, Oz.
