Can't say. Been 40 years for me now, not bored yet.
Maybe you should try something different: sail to a
different destination, crew on a totally different type
boat, design a new suit of sails for your boat, lots of
challenges out there.

Go ahead. If "the boat" is the focus of your interest, then
no wonder you're bored.

I've had some boring sails ( little or no wind, nowhere to go ).
Just makes me look forward more to the next one.

It is for some people. All those abandoned boats in the backlots of marinas
are a testament to that. Many, if not all, of the ones for sale on
yachtworld.com are as well.

Personally I think I personify the old adage that 'a bad day of sailing is
way better than a great day at work.'

I've sailed since my pre-teens and have never grown tired or bored of it.
If you have, perhaps you should get out of sailing for a while to see if you
really have any residual interest. If not, you're where you need to be. If
you do, you'll have to acquire another boat, which is not a problem with all
the boats on the market these days.

One other suggestion--you could try another aspect of sailing, say, for
example, racing, if you haven't done so yet. Or cruising, if you've only
been sailing round the marks on weekends. Nice thing about sailing is that
it's as multifaceted as just about any activity.

I would rather be Bored on a sailboat than in front of a TV or Web Site
or any other place I can think of. Nothing wrong with being bored. I've
spent many, many boring hours hove-to with everything shut down just
floating with my dog and a cold bottle (or Can) of Beer. It isn't easy
to be bored when Harbor Seal investigate your drifting boat or Sea Gull
sing to you. I've spent time talking to whales while just drifting.

Try it; before you sell your boat. Go out and enjoy being BORED, You'll
be surprised at how hard it is just to be Bored.

It's all mental!! Learn to enjoy being with yourself. If you can't
enjoy YOU then you have a real problem.

What about a new hobby? Flying? Head down to your local field and
check out a trial flight. Overall it's probably cheaper than sailing
(unless you buy your own plane) and lots of fun.

Try parachute jumping once or twice. Cleans out your head, you'll see
everything new and different.
