Sorry but, being far smarter an better educated than you, I am not bound to pick from your definitions. Gyp is only ambiguous to you because you are ignorant of its roots. With a broad vocabulary at my call I'm not incapable of choosing alternative words, but I may choose not to favor some fools pavlovian reponse to them. Simplicity Ganz..... you have no choice regarding your race [or in your case your homosexual orientation]... but plenty regarding your religious beliefs. Religions are fair game..... if there was no benefit to being a Jew.... they wouldn't have a membership. CM |

Some people who are born into a religion are programmed into it and really don't have a viable choice. Sort of like someone like you, who has plenty of opportunities to get past their hysterical rantings, but won't admit when they have a problem. I don't really see the connection there Ganz..... are you stating that just because a person is born into a religion that they don't have the freedom of thought to explore other beliefs, values and direction to enlighten themselves.... so we should respect their lack of intelligence? Or are you claiming that like being born a gay, cream puff, fudge packer such as yourself due to faulty genes is the same as being born a muslim, christian or jew and that religious freedom is relegated to the right to practice as opposed to the right to chose? I have heard that being Jewish isn't so much a faith as a fate. Sounds a lot like an anti-Semitic statement there Jon-Boy..... ....and Ganzy...... although I could chose to be sympathetic, forgiving and tolerant of your malicious, petty, back-stabbing and cowardly behaviour.... I chose not to. I have made this choice in a rational and logical manner. I don't like you... I think you are a weasel... that's not going to change. You're a netkkkop! CM |

It's not a matter of intelligence, more of indoctrination, which can be a very powerful force. I have heard that being Jewish isn't so much a faith as a fate. Oh I see... you believe indoctrination by birth to a religion totally eliminates a person's capacity or ability to formulate independent thought? Sounds a lot like you're not very well read. Heh.. I read Heavy Metal No, I don't believe you can choose. I think you're hopeless trapped in your own anger, even going so far as to lie to support it. So.. what makes you believe I'm angry Jon? Is it because I loath you as a snivelling rodent of a human being? Do you see me treat others on this group with the disdain and contempt I utilize with you? Seriously... I believe Binary Bill has more value than you.... and he's a spineless dickwad. { No need to thank me Billy] CM |

No. I believe that indoctrination over the course of one's life can be enough to prevent someone from acting intelligently or in their own best interests. They are not able to think independently. A good example is a significant portion of the N. Korean population. Either by fear or religious ferver, they are trapped. Sounds a lot like you're not very well read. Heh.. But, apparently, I'm the focus of most of your anger, as illustrated in your previous statement. You absolutely can not accept responsibility for your own actions, and this makes you very, very angry. Why are you not able to accept responsibility for your own actions? Most adults seem to be able to do that. I'm glad you find value in BBs posts. Really. -- Capt. JG @@ www.sailnow.com |

Not really true in all cases. Some people who are born into a religion are programmed into it and really don't have a viable choice. Programmed? Yes. No choice? No. All one trapped in a religion need do is study and get the facts about it. As a child, I was programmed to believe that I was guilty of Adam's original sin but that a man named Jesus Christ had started a church and died to save me. Then I discovered that was all false. Creationism is a myth, but even if you buy into it Adam's punishment was that he had to work for a living. Is the church going to take that punishment away? No! Jesus Christ? There was no man named Jesus Christ and the person(s) we think were did not found modern Christianity - that was Saul of Tarsus. So, thanks to knowledge, I'm no longer burdened by these superstitions. Then I thot to embrace Judism - until I discovered that it was based on myth and a practical joke. Islam? Same thing. Proving that "trapped" is like being trapped in poverty - one is only trapped if one lacks initiative - and I have little sympathy for lack of initiative. |
