They were Jewish albiet not mainstream. They claimed that all true Gypsies were

Your question proves my point. Why would you think it bizzare for Jews
(Gypsies) to be offended by "gyp", a term meaning to cheat, but think that
"Jewing down", a term that means honest haggling, is derogatory?

It proves you're not too smart. Gyp is ambigous at best. If someone told me
as an adult that it was offensive to them, I'd stop using it, at least in
their presence. You're incapable of doing that, so therefore you must not be
an adult or you're not to bright. You pick.

Sorry but, being far smarter an better educated than you, I am not bound to pick
from your definitions. Gyp is only ambiguous to you because you are ignorant of
its roots. With a broad vocabulary at my call I'm not incapable of choosing
alternative words, but I may choose not to favor some fools pavlovian reponse to
them.

are programmed into it and really don't have a viable choice. Sort of

I don't really see the connection there Ganz..... are you stating that
just because a person is born into a religion that they don't have the
freedom of thought to explore other beliefs, values and direction to
enlighten themselves.... so we should respect their lack of intelligence?

Programmed? Yes. No choice? No. All one trapped in a religion need do is study
and get the facts about it. As a child, I was programmed to believe that I was
guilty of Adam's original sin but that a man named Jesus Christ had started a
church and died to save me. Then I discovered that was all false. Creationism is
a myth, but even if you buy into it Adam's punishment was that he had to work
for a living. Is the church going to take that punishment away? No! Jesus

not found modern Christianity - that was Saul of Tarsus. So, thanks to
