It wasn't religious kooks that elected Bush, it was the middle voting against the left-wing kooks. It was the religious kooks who nominated him the first time. The conservatives have only one kook, Pat Robertson.... Naw, there's one on every pulpit. Some Democrats are wising up. They lost what should have been a shoo in in Va some years back when they hopped into bed with Kennedy and hyped Gun Control. Same must have happened other places because 'crat strategists have noted "every time a Democrat says gun control he looses 1000 votes". Then we had two GOP governors, one going on to the Senate. But they have something to learn too: every time they say "no right to die" it costs them votes. Meanwhile we've had a conservative democrat governor (Warner) who turned the states finances around, fixed our credit rating, and attracted a bunch of new businesses and jobs - ie the stuff that counts. We're so happy with that we elected another one! |
