When Destination Moon was released by Pal he had reworked the NOVEL by
RH, a pretty bad book called Rocketship Galileo. Pal liked some of the ideas and ran with it. The distributor, attempting an early tie-in effort released a new Novel, complete with a few photos called Destination Moon which also had RH' name on the Inside of the book! On the outside it only says, A George Pal Motion Picture. There are some small differences in the text, Does Doug know any of this? Of course not. He's a fair weather fan of RH and knows little about him. Meanwhile, Pete and I are waiting for the Door into Summer.... Doug, you're busted, exposed and so on. You didn't even know the movie was based on a Novel (actually more like a novella when you get right down to it.) Bwahahahahahaha! Doug get's handed his ass again! BTW, Doug...my Destination Moon copy is going on Ebay soon. I'll let you know when. RB 35s5 NY |

That's why Heinlein cowrote the script, I suppose, and was a technical consultant for the film. ... You didn't even know the movie was based on a Novel (actually more like a novella when you get right down to it.) Actually, the movie is based partly on Rocket Ship Galileo and partly on two other short stories by RAH. But you probably can't google them up as quickly. BTW, Doug...my Destination Moon copy is going on Ebay soon. I'll let you know when. Yes, do that. DSK |

That's why Heinlein cowrote the script, I suppose, and was a
technical consultant for the film. Good work, Doug!!! Now we know that you're not only igorant, but gullible too! RH was not the technical advisor, except for publicity sake. George Pal himself admitted this in the mid 70's before his death. The real technical advisor was Chesley Bonestell. Look him up. He's a well known sci fi artist who served on ALL of Pal's pictures and aided in both the look and execution of effects sequences. His study of space science was well in advance if RH's at the time. In addition Pal sought more help from scientists who went uncredited. You are one dumb guy believing that crap. RB 35s5 NY |

Does Doug know any of this? Of course not. He's a fair weather fan of
RH and knows little about him. Actually, I have read every published word Heinlein wrote. RH was a charming man and a wonderful writer who understood the importance of good character in any environment. I make a point of reading Door Into Summer every few years to remind me of that. It's hard to imagine that someone like you could appreciate his work. So tell us then: Why are you such a bitter nasty dickweed? RB 35s5 NY |
