![]() "Capt. Rob" wrote in message oups.com... According to Doug, if I indicated that a vessel's draft of "7' +" is a problem, I've failed to be clear? Most people would assume this to mean: And draft 7 feet or more is problematic. Oh, but not Doug! He needed to know that the + sign indicated 5" (or so) lest everyone be confused! So, folks...please be very very exact when talking about draft and please don't talk about draft/load variations. There's only so much the poor guy can take! RB 35s5...a boat that draws 4 feet, nine inches EXACTLY!!!! NY So what is the salinity of the water for the specified draft? How much does the draft increase when traveling up fresh water rivers? How is the difference between fresh and salt water draft related to prismatic coefficient? Praise! BC |

About the same as the salinity of chicken soup! How much does the draft increase when traveling up fresh water rivers? Or when the Queens sewage "treatment" plant opens the gate just around the corner from Boobsie's dock? How is the difference between fresh and salt water draft related to prismatic coefficient? Uh-oh, we might have to get JAXAShby's opinion on this one! DSK |

![]() "Bob Crantz" wrote How is the difference between fresh and salt water draft related to prismatic coefficient? About 5/3 of an inch, or 1/5 an order of magnitude. SV |
