I agree. Teach kids how to handle guns responsibly,
they don't go around killing people, instead they learn
to protect themselves and their loved ones. Guns deter
aggression.

One responsible armed man can stand off a gang, or
defuse a volatile situation.

How about just teach them to act responsibily, then let them decide
for themselves if they want to own a gun.
