How many here, have one or both of these and have used them?

I have a parachite type sea anchor. Never needed to
use it.

I have a 15' drouge / sea anchor.

I've used it in fair weather to drift fish, never in a storm yet.

I also have a sea anchor that I've set in practice, but never needed.

Practiced using a drogue, never in conditions that would truly warrant
it. Never used nor practiced using a para.

Inaccurate assumption (again?). Truly seeking experienced counsel (from
you? ). I have a Paratech 15', I am beginning to adventure offshore ( done
the 1500 have you?) and have read (do you?) that when crossing the Atlantic
(can you spell it?) it might be an asset (know the definition?)

So if you don't have something of value to add to a valid querry, perhaps
you should wander back your reservation and email Boobie.

As someone has said......AMEN!

Not much need on land for a perpetual project, eh?

Used both...have the drogue. Have never had to utilize them for their
intended purpose..... just practise deploy and retrieve in various
conditions.

Like them both....they both do well but require systems and methods in place
for both set and removal. The parachute anchor especially is difficult to
trip in rough conditions. Drogue is simply winched in.

Scope for your particular vessel is an important factor..... you need to
derive optimum length in practise exercises. Dangerous if you do not
practise and deploy only in an emergency, first time situation.

Commode Joe is an idiot that has nothing of value to contribute to any
discussion on sailing.... he is a petty and bitter individual, here only to
insult others from the safety of anonymity. Your best course of action is to
kill file him.

BTW... I cannot trip the parachute in strong winds and large seas without
auxiliary power to manoeuvre to within trip float range. If you have the
option to run with the storm...... I prefer the drogue.

Come on now... are you finally taking lithium? I was expecting you to
threaten me with posting my address and phone number again.

Or everyone's address and phone number that gave you any grief!

You're a frickin' Nut-Bar......

"just me": Captain Mooron is another fake sailor. Ask him how
many days he sailed this season. Don't risk your life by taking any
"advice" he might give. It may be an attempt to deliberately lead you
into danger. He's a real creep.

Similar to you. I used a drogue once. We simulated it's
effect by sailing closer to a beam reach instead of downwind.
