The scoop is active.

Good Lord! Better check out how effective that intercooler is:

Why not just supercharge that thing?

The rear spoiler can be left off if you so choose,
but it's a working spoiler at speeds over 110 MPH providing good
downward push.

Oh really?

http://www.se-r.net/body_trim/effective_real_wing.html

The spoiler provides no downward push at all (exept in the form of drag):

It's only purpose is to disrupt laminar air flow over the car body. The
disrupted air flow decreases air pressure differential between the bottom
and top of the car body, the spoiler provides almost no downward force. If
you don't believe me go put the amount of weight you think the spoiler
creates on it, then watch the deflection. For example, put 250 pounds on the
center of the spoiler and watch it bend. Then go drive your car at 130 mph
at look for the same deflection. It's not there.

Here's an airfoil that creates real downward pressu

Compare that to your little wind disruptor.

Fake air scoop!

Fake spoiler!

That thing is a Ford escort all dressed up!

aaahahahahahahahahahahahaaaa!!!!!
