Went out this AM on my LaBrisa. It wind was SE 8 kts. It was perfect
for my light air LaBrisa. About 8AM I got in the bay and the winds picked up to about 15Kts. A Puff in the bay put me over in the Burrrrr 62 degree water. Righted the boat... took down the main and headed back to the lake for a bit less chop. Only had the 120 jib and the wind was around a steady 25kt. It was a wild ride downwind back to the slip. Got back in around 11:30 what a workout. If you overpower a light air boat your just wasting your energy. The only fun path on a light air boat in any strong winds is down wind! I'd hate to cruise a light air boat. They are fun to take folks sight seeing in perfect conditions. Joe |
