The only thing I don't like is the Volvo engines they used,
which are hard to start in cold weather, and parts are absurdly priced. My 35s5 has a Volvo. It has a good rep, but I know prices are crazy for parts. Exhaust manifold is over 500 bucks! I actually toyed with the idea of yanking it and selling while it's running well. I'd much prefer Yanmar or Westerbeke. Volvo's do take some work to start in cold weather, then typically blow a cloud of white smoke, which clears after warm up. Even a much newer Volvo in my friend's Sweden does this. He's licked it a few times by adjusting timing, but it always returns. RB 35s5 NY |
