Williams and I own a Banshee 13 and sail it in Kansas on local lakes. I'm researching boats to be a boat bum on later in my life. :o) I'm really favoring a PS Orion 27' at present. Mostly I lurk because my boat doesn't have most of the stuff everyone talks about like a jib, head, bilge and other interesting things I may have some day. Mark Mark, nice to meet you. I'm sure everyone here will tell you that the best sailors learned on dinghys. Those that have only sailed keel boats lack "feel". The Orion is a gorgeous boat (in my opinion). I would have had one if there was one around at the right price. Any Pacific Seacraft would be a good boat for a boat bum. |

I've been posting here for 6 years, but not always as Scout. I've lost: my sailboat in a card game, my kids to the education system, my wife to a car accident, my hair to my genes, my back to hard labor, my eyesight to middle age, my hands to carpal tunnel, my knees to football, my teeth to sugar, my lungs to asbestos, my fortune to bad habits, and my faith in government to G.W. I rarely post anything here along the lines of sailing advice, but I have gotten a lot of help here. I sometimes post with a different name when I feel like slapping someone without dragging Scout into it. I don't like to argue, but I do like to throw peanuts. Mark,
A friend of mine was about to purchase a PS Orion about a month ago. He was looking at one in Rockhall, MD. He decided it wasn't bug enough as he hoping some of his kids will come along with him when he takes off. He's now looking at the PS 34 and 37. S. "Maynard G. I started living aboard in 1981 on a San Juan 24 which we cruised to Florida where we swapped it for a 1939 Tahiti Ketch. We cruised the Tahiti back up to Maryland and sailed it around the Chesapeake until about 5 years ago when we bought a CT41. Until a couple of months ago I worked in the boatyard next door, grinding bottoms and all that. The CT needs a rig so nothing I say is worth listening to:^ Seahag |

Gaz Frank, no pseudonym or sockpuppets, been sailing for close to forty years, no current boat, have owned three, last was Columbia 8.7M. sailed many others, live in Mississippi. I try to avoid (after realizing the futility of it) posting to political trolls or Boob's puppet show. doesn't give me much to respond to. I'd suggest you engage this site for entertainment and not look for any worth in the ravings of any regulars. Although if you ask an on topic question, knowledge abounds. Looking for next boat. Katrina has slowed down my logistics plan for getting that done. |
