It is different on a ship. On a small boat it is called the foredeck.
It would be pompous to call it a fo'csle. We muster the ship's crew on
the fo'csle. As in: "Fo'csle berthing party close up." Big difference
on your little liveaboard. "Coffee is served on the foredeck."

I never served on the Texas but I've crawled thru ever square inch of
her and donated some vintage items. What a ship.

On RedCloud it's the Fo'csle, just above the Masters Stateroom in the
Officers Quarters thru the Passageway forward of the Galley and Frame

I was on the Gompers in Pusan in '89 or '90. We called it the
"Chompers" because of all the female crew. You know.....

I am in the Canadian Navy and we were there on a West Pac tied outboard
of the Chompers.
