The Johnson 18 has been clocked at over 20 knots and outruns the waves (ie faster than any boat can go by surfing), but after a few hours you start looking for a more comfy place to relax, maybe have a sandwich. Some of us have talked about doing longer races but I really don't want to stay in a wetsuit for 24+ hours even if it did get me in the record books. Fresh Breezes- Doug King |
